HASSAN WHITESIDE ON DEANDRE JORDAN: 'I DO A LOT. HE JUST CATCHES LOBS'

HASSAN WHITESIDE ON DEANDRE JORDAN: 'I DO A LOT. HE JUST CATCHES LOBS'

Prior to the showdown Friday night between the two big men in Miami, Whiteside made it clear he thinks his game is more well-rounded than that of the 2016 first-team All-NBA player.

"No," Whiteside told the Miami Herald on Thursday when asked about Jordan and whether their games are similar. "He catches lobs. I shoot jumpers, catch lobs, block shots. I do a lot. He just catches lobs."

Whiteside, who inked a four-year, $98 million contract in July, does have better numbers than Jordan this season. He is averaging 17.6 points, 14.7 rebounds and 2.3 blocks. Jordan checks in at 11.7 points, 12.6 rebounds and 1.8 blocks.

While both struggle from the free-throw line (both players are under 55 percent), Jordan shoots 65 percent from the floor. Whiteside, who has expanded his game beyond just dunks, shoots 54.2 percent from the field.

That could be the reason Whiteside treats comparisons to Jordan with disdain. He hinted that Jordan looks good because he has nine-time NBA All-Star point guard Chris Paul tossing him easy passes at the rim to bolster that shooting percentage.

"[Jordan's] got CP3 as a point guard -- a great North Carolina point guard, I'd like to add," Whiteside told the Miami Herald.

5 celebrities who don't believe in God

5 celebrities who don't believe in God
we all see famous people on Television and YouTube videos, but have you ever asked yourself about those people's religion well, here are some celebrities that may make you shocked because they don't even believe in God's existence.

Angelina Jolie :

Angelina Jolie has never declared herself a religious person, but she has also never considered herself an atheist. In fact, the topic of religion was rarely a part of Jolie’s interviews, so there is not much to talk about.
Still, this famous actress did express her hope that there is a God, for the sake of those who believe. On the other hand, she is living proof that people do not need religion at all to treat other people in a good and generous way and towards other human beings in general,as she has helped so many people over the years and adopted three children.
She also shows respect to different cultures and people who do believe, so she has had her son Maddox learn about Buddhism and go to temples, as that is an important part of his Cambodian heritage. All of this, in addition to the fact that she has never openly declared herself as a believer.

 Jodie Foster :

Jodie Foster, most famous for her portrayal of Clarice Starling in The Silence of the Lambs, has openly stated as an atheist on so many occasions.
despite being an atheist herself, Foster celebrates all religious holidays regardless of the religion her family belong to, and will allow her children to choose their religion when they grow up. If this does not show enough respect for any and all beliefs out there, it should be pointed out that Foster also spends a lot of time studying religious texts.
This clearly shows that she has made an educated decision when it comes to choosing a religion , and relies on science rather than faith, at least until the existence of God or any other higher power is scientifically proven.

 John Malkovich :

John Malkovich, an actor, fashion designer, director and producer, is a declared atheist despite his Croatian roots. His ancestors were Catholic, as are most people in Croatia, but Malkovich does not see much logic in the story of an almighty being looking down at us from the sky.
He does not, however, deny the possibility of a greater power. It should be added that Malkovich’s lack of faith does not have anything to do with his willingness to help those in need.
Malkovich saved the life of a 77-year-old man who fell down on the street and cut his neck by applying pressure until the emergency responders took the old man to the hospital. which makes him think that people don't need religion to aid others.

Brad Pitt :

Although many folks turn to religion when in need of peace, comfort or hope, Brad Pitt is not one of those people. grew up in a Southern Baptist family, this actor has always struggled with the concept of God’s plan, and the unfairness of it.
Now he claims to be more of an agnostic than an atheist, but breaking the ties with religion has not been a loss, but a gain for him. Expanding on his need for fairness, Pitt’s visit to Morocco changed his views even further as he had seen how poor people realy lived.
This made the famed actor become an activist and try to correct the things that religion was not fixing, and it also made him a perfect match for his beautiful wife Angelina Jolie.

 Daniel Radcliffe :

Most famous for his role in the Harry Potter movies, Daniel Radcliffe is very open about his lack of faith. He publicly declared himself an atheist just before the release of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, which made him an enemy of the American far right.
Not only is Radcliffe a declared atheist, but he tends to turn into a militant atheist when he feels that religion is in any way influencing or changing the laws imposed by the government. Besides frankly speaking about his religious views, Daniel Radcliffe has found another way to anger conservatives – he does not mind being considered gay.
People often believe he is homosexual, and the young actor seems to think that being mistaken for a gay man is awesome, which is unacceptable to those opposing the idea of absolute equality.

5 things you didn't know about The Kardashian Family

5 things you didn't know about The Kardashian Family

Scott Disick’s Family Past :
Scott Disick is quite the character. He is some sort of a vanilla villain in the whole Kardashian saga, unnecessarily sleazy and intense, at times being a total jerk and then redeeming himself in the dumbest of ways simply because it always works.
In the poorly-written saga of the Kardashians, he is the perfect sort-of villain.
His father, on the other hand, was a clear-cut villain at least at one point in his life. Namely, Mr. Jeffrey Disick was once arrested for stealing money from a bank. He turned himself in, paid a fine and spent some time doing community service.
It’s like being associated with the Kardashians has become a get-out-of-jail-free card.

Lamar Thinks They Are Behind Negative Stories :

Lamar Odom, besides being one of the most undervalued NBA players in the last two decades, is also a guy who has had troubles with drugs and who, for the most part, has had everyone on his side. It was obvious he tried really hard to pull his life together and most of us were cheering for him And as it so often goes, we received constant negatively-tinted reports of Lamar’s faltering and setbacks on this journey. There is always a story there and the public loves those stories.
The reason why this made our list is the fact that Lamar firmly believes it was the Kardashian Klan who spread all the rumors and who was responsible for all the bad press against him. Considering his troubled relationship with Khloe (btw he did cheat on her), this is definitely a possibility.

Khloe Not Really Being A Kardashian :

Khloe is arguably the most humanlike person of all the Kardashians and she often feels like the most grounded person in the conglomerate. And it seems that the reason for this may be the fact that she might not even be a Kardashian.
In one of the longest-running rumors about the Kardashian Conglomerate is the often-mentioned but never confirmed tale of Khloe not being the daughter of late Robert Kardashian. Robert’s many ex-wives and acquaintances insist that he told them he was not her father.
The father is supposedly Alex Roldan who was Kris’ hairdresser around the time Khloe was conceived. Moreover, he allegedly signed a $30 million non-disclosure agreement about the whole thing.
Who knows?

Kim Exploited Her Divorce :

Kim’s marriage to Kris Humphries was a tabloids’ favorite for quite some time and it was clear from day one that it was a marriage not destined to last. The poor guy was like a deer caught in the headlights of a car, not knowing what hit him. And he bumped bodies with 7-footers every day, mind you.
In any case, the divorce went down less-than-spectacularly, especially after the whole getting pregnant with another dude thing and it all ended in a pretty messy way, just like everyone predicted it would.
Of course, nothing stopped Kim and the media machine behind her from exploiting this marriage and especially the divorce to bump ratings and to make her look like the good guy. It just goes to show that you shouldn’t get involved with the Kardashians unless you have danced with alligators and lived.

The Truth About The Sex Tape :

Let’s be perfectly honest and perfectly brutal. The Sex Tape is what 99% of the Kardashian fame and money is based on. Before it, Kim was little more than Paris Hilton’s girlfriend and daughter of a guy who once defended O.J.
Once it hit the stores and Kim made $5 mill off it by the way, it all exploded. And it goes without saying that a number of insiders claim Kris had her fingerprints all over that story.
When you think about it and remember that Kris is not only the Machiavelli of the Kardashian-Jenner Conglomerate but also Kim’s mom, it all gets a bit yucky. It is quite possible that she orchestrated the whole thing so that her daughter’s sex tape becomes a cash cow.

Investigation of the Russian hacking

Investigation of the Russian hacking

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell broke with President-elect Donald Trump over Russia on Monday, saying he supports a congressional investigation into findings that Russian hackers attempted to influence the election.
McConnell praised the American intelligence community, saying he has "the highest confidence in the intelligence community, and especially the Central Intelligence Agency" -- which Trump had recently lambasted over its findings.
McConnell's comments were an implicit rebuke of Trump, who has questioned whether Russia actually interfered with the election, including with hacks of Democratic operatives.
A bipartisan group of senators -- McCain, Senate Democratic leader Chuck Schumer, Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-South Carolina, and Sen. Jack Reed, D-Rhode Island -- had on Sunday called for an investigation into the intelligence community's finding that Russia attempted to influence the election.
The President-elect on Sunday morning blasted the intelligence community anew, calling its assessment that Russia interfered in the election "ridiculous."
"I think it's just another excuse. I don't believe it," Trump said in an interview on "Fox News Sunday."
McConnell was also much more skeptical of Russia than Trump.
"Let me just speak for myself: The Russians are not our friends," McConnell, a Kentucky Republican, told reporters at a Monday morning news conference.
"I think we ought to approach all of these issues on the assumption the Russians do not wish us well," he said.
Two days earlier Trump sided with Russia over the CIA and attacked the US intelligence assessment of Russia's role.
"These are the same people that said Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction," Trump's transition team said in a terse, unsigned statement targeting the CIA on Friday.
Though he supported calls for an investigation into Russian hacking, McConnell poured cold water on the idea -- which McCain had proposed -- of a select committee to investigate Russian hacking.
Trump, meanwhile, continued dismissing intelligence reports Monday morning, tweeting, "Unless you catch "hackers" in the act, it is very hard to determine who was doing the hacking. Why wasn't this brought up before election?"
Ignoring the conclusions of the intelligence community that Russia sought to meddle in the US election is dangerous, Sen. Angus King said Monday.
The Maine independent, who caucuses with the Democrats in the Senate and sits on the Senate Intelligence Committee, told CNN's Chris Cuomo on "New Day" on Monday that what Director of National Intelligence James Clapper tells you, "you can take it to the bank."
"If you blow off what Jim Clapper's telling you, you do so at your peril," King said.
Clapper is a retired lieutenant general with decades of intelligence experience across administrations of both parties, King pointed out. ODNI pulls together intelligence from all of the US government's intelligence agencies.
Clapper's office, along with the Department of Homeland Security, put out a statement in October declaring that the US government and intelligence had concluded that senior levels of the Russian government had directed the hacking of Democratic political groups in the US and release of information from them with the intent of influencing the US election.
A series of leaks of emails and internal documents from the Democratic National Committee and Hillary Clinton's campaign chairman over the weeks and months leading up to the election jolted the race, vexing Democrats and resulting in the resignation of officials from the DNC including its former chairwoman. Republicans did not suffer the same release.
The Russia involvement has been a point of contention, however. Despite overwhelming consensus between the private sector and intelligence community that Moscow was directing the attacks and involved in the leaks, Trump has continually denied that Russia played a role, saying over the weekend he doesn't believe the conclusion. The latest dust-up has come over a report from The Washington Post that the CIA has concluded Russia didn't just seek to sow discord in the election, but actually sought to get Trump elected, following an earlier report by CNN.
King said while questions remain about the Moscow's intention, there's little doubt about Moscow's involvement.
"I think (Trump) ought to sit down with some of the top people ... and take a deep breath and listen to this," King said. "I think he's too defensive right now, and I can understand that. This is a serious business, but you know this is not a partisan issue."
King also supported the efforts of his colleagues McCain, Schumer, Graham and Reed to hold bipartisan hearings on the topic.
McCain and Schumer appeared together on "CBS This Morning" to discuss the need for the hearings. They, too, agreed the evidence is clear Russia engaged in hacking, though the intentions are still under question.
"I can't reach that conclusion yet, which is why we need a bipartisan effort to uncover the whole situation," McCain said. "It's another form of warfare and the entire issue is going to be examined by the Armed Services Committee because it's a threat to our national security."
Schumer said the seriousness of the situation calls for a bipartisan approach that doesn't devolve into politics.
"We need to get to the bottom of this in a fair, nonpartisan, non-finger pointing way," Schumer said. "This is something that should unite Republicans, Democrats, conservatives, liberals, patriots."
